Making a Difference Every Day

JM Family associates are always ready to make the community a better place. Whether it’s building a home for a deserving family, mentoring an at-risk child or supporting an essential needs drive – volunteering is at the heart of our associates. Through our What A Difference A Day Makes! initiative, more than 1,000 associates volunteered nearly 13,000 hours at 223 company-sponsored events in 2016. Our partners receive JM Family’s volunteer power plus additional support such as funding, in-kind giving and marketing services.

Our new What A Difference A Work Day Makes! initiative is a twist on our popular volunteer program. Through it, associates can volunteer one paid work day per year, or two half days, at any nonprofit, school or religious organization.

Recognizing the Hard Work of Our Volunteers

JM Family celebrates the good work of volunteers with our Dollars for Doers program. Associates may direct company dollars to a nonprofit of their choice based on volunteer hours at JM Family-sponsored events. Associates who volunteer between five and nine hours a year may award $50. Donations increase up to $1,000 for those who complete 100 or more hours of service. The Dollars for Doers program awarded $66,000 to 220 organizations in 2016.

Community Impact Committees

To extend JM Family’s giving to each of our business locations, local Community Impact Committees identify philanthropic programs, sponsorships and volunteer opportunities that align with our corporate philanthropy mission. Our volunteers are the best resources for understanding the unique needs of local organizations and helping JM Family make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work.
