JM Family Donates $100,000 to American Red Cross for Hurricane Irma Disaster Relief Efforts

To aid in the recovery process of destruction caused by Hurricane Irma, JM Family Enterprises is making a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Red Cross and its vast network of volunteers are providing shelter, emergency resources and aid to the victims of this disaster.

Additionally, JM Family associates and their families are eligible to apply for a grant from the company’s Associates Helping Associates program, which provides aid to associates in need through donations from fellow associates.

Hurricane Irma made landfall in the Florida Keys early Sunday morning as a Category 4 storm. Irma’s mass of catastrophic winds, heavy rain and record storm surge covered nearly every inch of Florida, leaving behind devastated conditions before making its way through the Southeast. In the Keys, an estimated 25 percent of homes were destroyed, while another 65 percent suffered “major damage.” According to official reports, at least 55 people have been killed, more than 5.6 million Florida homes and businesses remain without power as well as more than 700,000 in Georgia, and about 94,000 people continue to seek refuge in Florida shelters alone.
