JM Family Enterprises Announces Three Executive Promotions

Brent Burns Named COO; Jorge Gonzalez Assumes CFO Role; and Kim Magner Promoted to Vice President of Corporate Taxes

Colin Brown, president and chief executive officer of diversified automotive company JM Family Enterprises, Inc., has announced three executive-level promotions as the organization continues delivering exceptional performance and results across each of its core businesses.

Brent Burns has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO), Jorge Gonzalez assumes the role of chief financial officer (CFO), and Kim Magner has been named vice president of Corporate Taxes. JM Family currently ranks No. 27 on Forbes’ list of “America’s Largest Private Companies,” and No. 37 on FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list.

Burns joined JM Family in 2000 and most recently served as CFO and executive vice president, a position he held since 2008. As CFO, he helped navigate JM Family through the challenging economic crisis and establish a financial framework that supported the company in achieving its most successful years in history. In his new role as COO and executive vice president, Burns will oversee JM Family’s primary operating business units: Southeast Toyota Distributors, World Omni Financial Corp. and JM&A Group.

Prior to his role as CFO, Burns was president of World Omni, JM Family’s diversified financial services subsidiary, in addition to 20 years of leadership experience in automotive operations and finance. Burns graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Stepping into the role of CFO and senior vice president is Jorge Gonzalez, who will oversee all financial operations for JM Family and also become a member of the Executive Management Team, which directs the development and implementation of the company’s long-range planning and strategies for future growth. He joined JM Family in 2004 as vice president of Corporate Taxes. Gonzalez is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration in Accounting, as well as a Master of Science in Taxation from Pace University in New York.

Kim Magner has been promoted to vice president of Corporate Taxes. She joined the company in 1996 as a senior tax accountant and has held several management positions of increasing responsibility. As a CPA, Magner gained her initial training at PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Canisius College and a Master of Accounting in Taxation from Nova Southeastern University.
